Chocolate Lavender Cupcakes
Ingredients:

– 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
– 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
– 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
– 2 large eggs
– 2 teaspoons (10ml) vanilla extract
– 1 tablespoon (15g) dried lavender flowers
– 1/2 cup (120ml) boiling water
– 1/2 cup (120g) unsalted butter, softened
– 2 cups (250g) powdered sugar
– 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
– 1 teaspoon (5g) vanilla extract
– 1 tablespoon (15g) dried lavender flowers, for decoration (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF 175ยฐC and line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners.

2. In a bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well.

3. In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; do not overmix.

5. In a small bowl, steep the dried lavender in the boiling water for about 10 minutes; strain and reserve the lavender-infused water.

6. Add the lavender-infused water to the cupcake batter and mix gently until incorporated.

7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. For the frosting, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until creamy, then add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and blend until smooth and fluffy.

11. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the lavender buttercream frosting, and garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender flowers if desired.
