Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup strawberries, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
Sprinkle chopped strawberries and lemon zest over the cream cheese layer.
Carefully roll up the puff pastry sheet from one edge to the other, creating a log.
Slice the roll into 8 pieces and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle a little sugar on top for a golden finish.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden and puffed.
While baking, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Serve the rolls warm with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
