Bonheur Recipes Ingredients:

Ingredients:
4 beef cube steaks (or sirloin steaks, tenderized)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)
2 cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions:
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
Dip each cube steak into the flour mixture, coating both sides. Then dip into the egg mixture and back into the flour mixture, ensuring the steak is fully coated.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry each steak for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For the gravy, discard any excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons. Add the 2 tablespoons of flour to the skillet and whisk to form a roux.
Slowly add the milk while stirring continuously, cooking until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pour the gravy over the fried steaks and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
