Brownie Refrigerator Cake
Ingredients:
1. 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box)
2. 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3. 1 cup powdered sugar
4. 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed, divided
5. 2 boxes (3.9 oz each) chocolate instant pudding mix
6. 3 cups cold milk
7. Chocolate shavings or curls for garnish
Directions:
1. Preheat Oven:
1.1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the brownie mix box. Prepare a baking dish by greasing it lightly.
Prepare the Brownie Base:
2.1. Follow the instructions on the brownie mix box to prepare the brownie batter. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake according to the package instructions. Allow the brownies to cool completely.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer:
3.1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
3.2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to mix until well combined.
3.3. Fold in half of the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Cake Layers:
4.1. Once the brownies are cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the brownie layer.
4.2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mixes and cold milk until thickened.
4.3. Pour the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out evenly.
4.4. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.
Chill and Serve:
5.1. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the layers to set.
5.2. Before serving, garnish the cake with chocolate shavings or curls.
