– 1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
– ยฝ cup (120ml) heavy cream (for fudge filling)

– 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet chocolate (chopped, for ganache)
– ยฝ cup (120ml) heavy cream (for ganache)
– 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for ganache)
Instructions:
1. Bake the Chocolate Cake: Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Add in the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract; mix until the batter is smooth. Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is well combined. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans.
2. Prepare the Fudge Filling: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and unsalted butter over low heat until warm. Remove from heat and pour over the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Let it cool until it thickens.
3. Make the Ganache: In another saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it nearly reaches a simmer. Pour it over the chopped semi-sweet chocolate and let it sit for a minute. Stir until the mixture is silky smooth, then stir in the unsalted butter until melted and combined.
4. Assemble the Cake: Carefully place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread an even layer of fudge filling over the top, and then place the second cake layer on top. Gently pour the ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
5. Serve & Enjoy: Let the ganache set for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Slice into generous portions and relish every decadent bite! For an elegant touch, garnish with chocolate curls or fresh berries, and a dusting of cocoa powder.
