1 cup hot coffee (or hot water for a milder flavor)
For the Edible Cookie Dough Filling:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened
½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk (or cream)
1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated – see tip below)
½ cup mini chocolate chips
For the Buttercream Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ cup heavy cream (or milk)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For Garnish:

Mini chocolate chips
Chocolate chip cookies (whole or crumbled)
Drizzle of chocolate ganache (optional)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Bake the Chocolate Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; mix until combined.
Stir in hot coffee until smooth (batter will be thin).
Divide evenly among pans; bake 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
2️⃣ Prepare the Edible Cookie Dough Filling:

Heat-treat the flour: Spread 1 cup flour on a baking sheet; bake at 350°F for 5 minutes to ensure safety. Let cool.
Cream butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Mix in vanilla and milk.
Gradually add the treated flour, mixing until smooth. Stir in mini chocolate chips; set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Buttercream Frosting:

Beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat on high until light and fluffy; adjust consistency as needed.
4️⃣ Assemble the Cake:

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of buttercream, then add a generous dollop of cookie dough filling.
Repeat with the second layer. For the top layer, frost the cake evenly on the top and sides.
5️⃣ Decorate:

Garnish with crumbled chocolate chip cookies, mini chocolate chips, and a drizzle of chocolate ganache (if desired). Add whole cookies for an extra dramatic touch!
6️⃣ Chill & Serve:
