Halal Pepperoni Pizza Layer Cake
Ingredients:
For the dough (makes 3 pizza layers):
– 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
– 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 1/4 cups warm water
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the filling and topping:
– 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
– 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 2 cups halal beef pepperoni slices
– 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing the crust)
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Slowly add the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and line three round baking pans (8 or 9 inches in diameter) with parchment paper.
4. Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal parts. Roll out each portion to fit the baking pans. Let them rest for 10 minutes.
5. Bake each pizza crust for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden. Let them cool completely.
6. To assemble, place one pizza crust on a plate. Spread a layer of pizza sauce, a generous sprinkle of mozzarella cheese, and a layer of halal pepperoni slices.
7. Repeat the layering with the second and third pizza crusts, making sure to add plenty of cheese and pepperoni between each layer.
8. Cover the entire pizza cake with more mozzarella and arrange pepperoni slices on top.
9. Bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
