Homemade Moose Tracks Ice Cream
Ingredients:
Vanilla Ice Cream Base:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Mix-ins:
½ cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)
½ cup mini peanut butter cups (chopped)
¼ cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ice Cream Base:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Chill the Mixture:
Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to enhance the flavor.
Churn the Ice Cream:
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20-25 minutes) until thick and creamy.
Add the Mix-ins:
Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, fold in the chopped peanut butter cups and chocolate chips.
Swirl in the Fudge:
Transfer half of the ice cream into a freezer-safe container, drizzle with hot fudge sauce, then repeat with the remaining ice cream and more fudge. Gently swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
Freeze:
Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours (or until firm) before serving.
