Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cakeย
Ingredients:ย 1 cup all-purpose flour
ย 2/3 cup sugar
ย 1/4 cup cocoa powder
ย 2 tsp baking powder
ย 1/4 tsp salt
ย 1/2 cup milk
ย 2 tbsp melted butter
ย 1 tsp vanilla extract
ย 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
ย 3/4 cup brown sugar
ย 1/4 cup cocoa powder
ย 1 3/4 cup hot water
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).ย
Prepare the cake batter:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.ย
Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture forms a smooth batter.ย
If youโre using chopped nuts, fold them into the batter now.ย
Transfer the batter:
Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe dish.ย
Prepare the fudge topping:
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and additional cocoa powder.ย
Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the cake batter.ย
Add the hot water:
Carefully pour the hot water over the top of the cake (donโt stir!). The water will sink to the bottom and create a fudge sauce while the cake bakes.ย
Bake the cake:
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the cake has risen and the top looks set, while the fudge sauce is bubbling underneath.ย
Serve:
Let it cool slightly before serving. The pudding cake is delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.ย
