Golden Five Flavor Pound Cake
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
– 1/2 cup shortening
– 3 cups granulated sugar
– 5 large eggs
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon almond extract
– 1 teaspoon butter extract
– 1 teaspoon coconut extract
– 1 teaspoon lemon extract
For the Glaze:
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2 tablespoons milk
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
– 1/2 teaspoon butter extract
– 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
– 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan or tube pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and shortening together until smooth.
4. Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the batter, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
7. Stir in the vanilla, almond, butter, coconut, and lemon extracts.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
9. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
11. While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and extracts.
12. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and let it set before slicing.
