Triple Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
1. 1½ cups all-purpose flour
2. 1½ cups granulated sugar
3. ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4. 1½ tsp baking soda
5. 1 tsp baking powder
6. 1 tsp salt
7. 2 large eggs
8. 1 cup whole milk
9. ½ cup vegetable oil
10. 2 tsp vanilla extract
11. 1 cup boiling water
12. 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
13. 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped (for ganache)
14. 1 cup heavy cream
Directions:
Preheat Oven:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Add Wet Ingredients:
3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
Pour Boiling Water:
4. Carefully stir in the boiling water to the cake batter. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
Add Chocolate Chips:
5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter.
Bake the Cake:
6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make Ganache:
8. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
9. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and pour the hot cream over the chocolate.
10. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and glossy.
Assemble the Cake:
11. Allow the cakes to cool completely before removing them from the pans.
12. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of ganache on top, then place the second cake layer on top.
13. Pour the remaining ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
Serve:
14. Slice and serve the decadent Triple Chocolate Cake. Enjoy the rich chocolate goodness!
